Experience the joy of drumming!

Explore foundational West African phrases and rhythms that are sure to inspire confidence! Improve your groove with tips and techniques for ensemble playing along with some great rhythms you can play in many situations. We will work with breath, posture and hand placement for more ease in playing. Get comfortable with basic percussion language while using our bodies, voices, games, and drums. Bring your Djembe, Ashiko, Bougarabou, Ngoma or Conga and have a blast drumming! Some drums will be available during class – please request upon registration.

No experience necessary – you’ve got the rhythm inside – we’ll just help bring it out onto the drum!
